US Invests Millions in Invisible TV Broadcast

By Alberto Barces

Cubanow.- Despite continuous efforts and a latest 10-million-dollar
investment, Washington has not been able to get its anti-Cuba TV
broadcasts through the island, as part of the US prioritized subversive
plans against the Cuban Revolution.

An AP report on the issue, echoed by several US newspapers says that
ten months ago the US reinforced its beaming of government-produced TV
broadcasts into Cuba with the use of a Gulfstream Jet , but the
programming still does not appear to be getting through very well.

The report refers to the so-called TV Martí, a subversive US-sponsored
station that disrespectfully uses the name of Cuban National Hero Jose
Martí, a man who gave his life fighting for Cuban Independence and who
exposed Washington's supremacy and intentions to get hold of Cuba and
expand its power through Latin America.

Although a State Department draft report last month said that the
investment appeared to be paying off, US broadcast experts affirmed
that the signal can rarely be seen on the island, the article reads.

The unsuccessful anti-Cuba action, which is another fruitless effort to
topple the Cuban government, has already cost US taxpayers over 20
million dollars a year, the article explains. Cuba has been able to
successfully jam the broadcast, based on its sovereign rights against
the US violation of its radio-electric space.

US failed efforts to get the TV signal through Cuba initially included
a blimp over the Florida Keys, which was destroyed by a hurricane. At
present the anti-Cuba broadcast is carried by the Gulfstream jet, a
C-130 aircraft and a Miami-based station.

But the so-called TV Marti, set up 17 years ago was not a new project
designed for Cuba. The subversive US project had already been
implemented against the former Soviet Union during the Cold War period
in what was known as Radio Free Europe.

The anti-Cuba TV project, as well as its Miami-based radio counterpart,
is just another tool in the interest of the Florida-based Cuban
American counterrevolutionary circles; another anti-Cuba business,
which has been the target of criticism by many, even in the United
States.
