Argentina Backs Venezuela to Enter MERCOSUR

Buenos Aires, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) A day before Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez' visit, some Argentinian media highlighted the government
support to Venezuela to enter MERCOSUR, during a ministerial summit
with Brazil.

The official Telam news agency highlighted in a report on the
Argtentina-Brazil foreign minister meeting held on Friday in Brasilia,
Argentinian Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana's statement in this respect.

Argentina expects Venezuela to become full member of MERCOSUR as soon
as possible, the news agency said, commenting Taiana's statements in a
press conference.

The agency also highlighted that Brazilian Foreign Minister Cleso
Amorim referred to the same issue, expressing his country's interest in
that process completion.

La Nacion daily said the tension related to that issue dropped,
according to the results of the meeting in Brasilia, and highlighted
the support to Venezuela to enter the sub-regional bloc soon.
