FAO Recognizes Cuba's Contribution to Other Peoples
Havana, August 7 (acn) Cuba's cooperation with other peoples through
the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was
recognized on Monday by Francisco Arias Milla, a representative of that
organization.
In statements published by the digital edition of the Granma newspaper,
Arias Milla, who concludes a five-year working period on the island,
explained that there are currently around 40 Cuban specialists carrying
out FAO missions in several countries.
"They not only take their technological knowledge with them but also
their discipline and their working ethics," he stressed.
Arias Milla noted that there is an agreement between Cuba and FAO
according to which the international organization can benefit from the
assistance of 200 Cuban specialists for diverse projects, mainly in
Africa, South America and the Caribbean, although their goal is to
increase the number up to 300.
Now, Arias Milla will travel to Venezuela to support Venezuelan and
Cuban joint initiatives as part of the Bolivarian Alternative for the
Americas (ALBA) integration project for Latin America and the Caribbean.
