What do We the People do now?

Once again, We the People have been stabbed in the back by the
Democrats in Congress, the people we elected to get us out of Iraq,
stop the erosion of our civil liberties, get rid of Bush and Cheney,
or at least, limit their power. Instead, as they walked away from
their job for a month's vacation, the traitorous Representatives
legitimized Bush's warrantless wiretapping.

It's been very discouraging for the anti-Bush movement. Congress
is our only legitimate, peaceful channel for redress of grievances
against the Executive Branch. The majority of its members are in
collusion with the Bush dictatorship, giving him all the power and
money he wants.

What do We the People do now?

Here are some suggestions:

Illegitimum non carborundum- Don't let the bastards grind you down.
This last betrayal by Congress was calculated to demoralize us and
take away our hope. It was probably orchestrated by Karl Rove--
psyops in operation. Don't let it get to you.

Face reality. Congress has caved, whether from collusion, coercion
or both.

We have been set up for fascism- all the laws, means, facilities
are now in place. The chances of an election in 2008 are increasingly
remote.

Dont ever forget that We the People are sovereign under the US
Constitution The legitimate authority and power rest with us. We
delegate authority to our elected Representatives in Congress, who
have to answer to us at the polls every two years. The officials
in the Executive branch are public servants, who are there to carry
out the laws passed by Congress on behalf of We the People. If
Congress wont represent us, and lets the Executive branch control
them, We the People STILL have ultimate authority, power, and
responsibility.

Take responsibility as the citizen of a democratic republic. Be
alarmed at Bush and Cheneys usurpation of power, and raise the
alarm, everywhere you go, while we still can. We are not yet
officially a dictatorship. We still are keeping them at bay. We are
still living under the US Constitution. We the People are still
legally sovereign, but we are on the verge of losing our country,
and perhaps our planet.

Realize that it's up to us. Resistance by We the People is the only
thing that can save us. The peaceful, legal way to express that
resistance is via impeachment. Going to the streets will only justify
repression, and were not organized enough for strikes and boycotts.
The impeachment movement is viable, and gathering momentum.

Go into crisis mode. I know people who have stopped working and put
all their time and lots of their money into impeachment. Its time
to set priorities.

Keep your eye on the ball. Dont be distracted by the hoopla around
the presidential candidates. Dont be distracted by weird weather
or sudden financial straits, or health problems. Were in a crisis
that will determine the future, for better or worse. Its been
building for a long time, and its coming to a head. Impeachment is
the magic bullet that can kill the monster. Nothing else will do
it.

Work for impeachment without fear. The recent dictums of the dictator
about seizing property may be applied to the protestors against the
war in Iraq, but theres no way Bush can outlaw working for his and
Cheneys impeachment under the US Constitution. And the only way out
of Iraq is through impeachment.

Dont lose hope. A majority of Congress would vote to impeach Bush
and Cheney if these measures were put "on the table" by Pelosi and
Conyers. The steady increase in cosponsors of the bills to impeach
Cheney and Gonzales, a combined total now of 45, shows that impeachment
is becoming more appetizing

Keep up the pressure on your Representative. Meet with him/her
during the August recess. Some of our Impeach Bush-Cheney group met
with Rep. Barbara Lee last Monday. Shes one of the "good guys", was
an early signer of H Res 333 to impeach Cheney, and says she thinks
about impeachment all the time.

We pointed out that she wont endorse our group or come to our events,
she doesnt mention impeachment on her website or in press conferences.
We pushed her to be more vocal.

Threaten your Representative's job. If your Congressperson wont
cosign H Res 333, find a good candidate to run against him/her in
the primary or the general election next year. When Cindy Sheehan
asked John Conyers, Chair of Judiciary, how to get Congress to
impeach, he told her to threaten their jobs. She decided to challenge
Speaker Nancy Pelosis seat in San Francisco.

Im challenging Mike Thompson in CA District 1. We should do this
all across the country- make them sweat if they wont endorse
impeachment.

Have faith. The impeachment movement is building rapidly. The more
opposition we mobilize now, through the peaceful, legal channel of
impeachment which the Founding Fathers gave us, the harder it will
be for them to impose dictatorship, start WW III, strip us of our
liberty and property. We can still turn this around.

Keep in mind that we are righteous. We have truth and justice on
our side.

We know, and the members of Congress know, that they are violating
their oath of office, to uphold and defend the US Constitution
against all enemies foreign and DOMESTiC. Every day that goes by
without impeachment is a violation of their oath of office. Some
of them have a shred of honor and conscience- we have to speak to
that. They do have to answer to us again at the polls next year.
Keep your faith.

Dont be terrorized by the heretical rapture cult, the rightwing
Christians" who are beckoning a nuclear Armageddon, with the belief
that Jesus will come on a mushroom cloud and take them to heaven.
This is the path of death, that serves the corporate beast and the
earthly satanic rulers who are gobbling up the planet. Show them
that the Bible says to choose life:  Deut. 30:19 This day I call
heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before
you life and death, blessings and curses.

Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. And if you
have friends who still believe Bush is anointed by God, show them
2 Thessalonians 2: 2-12- The Man of Lawlessness- which describes
Bush to a T. If you believe in a higher power, pray. If you dont,
let the wisdom of the Native Americans be your guide, and plan for
your descendants seven generations hence. This means impeachment
now.

Arouse your family and friends. Challenge them to tell you what
they think are the chances of an election in 08. Then ask why they
bother to watch the charade put on by the presidential candidates.
Ask them what theyre willing to do, now, to save the Constitution.
