Florida: A Preview of Bush’s Plan for Cuba?
by Deisy Francis Mexidor
Children in the State of Florida that live in foster homes are often
without dental care, vaccinations, counseling or therapy, says the
Chapin Hall Center of Children of the University of Chicago.
The El Nuevo Herald newspaper quoted a report from Chapin Hall stating
that minors under government supervision also lack stability as the
caregivers often abandon them for a lack of government support.
The report fell like a bombshell at the Florida Department of Children
and Families, already under fire over a series of incidents including
the rape of a Miami girl in a foster home in which an alleged child
molester lived.
The thought that children in foster care are often without immunization
is considered a preview of what might happen in Cuba if the Bush
administration is able to implement its plan for the island.
The "Plan for Assistance to a Free Cuba" is a US State Department
document of more than 500 pages mapping out the overthrow of the Cuban
government and the installation of a US administered country. Included
in it is a promise to "immediately vaccinate all children under five
against the main child diseases," once the annexation of Cuba is
complete.
The reality is that 100 percent of Cuban children are vaccinated from
birth against 13 diseases. In Bush’s Florida that still hasn’t
happened.
