Attack Closes Israel Defense Ministry

Ramallah, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) An unidentified person's attack on an
Israeli Defense Ministry guard, with a screwdriver on Thursday,
prompted special security measures that blocked ministry access during
afternoon hours.

The attack took place in the underground parking lot of the institution
and there is a possibility that the attacker is a technician, who
predictably fled after the assault, according to Israeli digital paper
Haa'aretz.

The Ministry of Defense is located in Tel Aviv, where the main offices
of the Army are located, and the Armed Forces are in charge of their
security.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert frequently hold meetings
there, for which reason authorities did not belittle what happened,
without giving more details on the matter.
