"Will the US Really Bomb Iran?"

[in which Cockburn concludes that, despite all the hoop-de-hah stories
in which the lunatic right wingers (of which this hilariously titled
Alexis Debat was one) were pushing about the scarey-airy-fairytales
that are the half-wit Bush's latest war fantasies, yes -- Bush really
might go ahead and probably will try to take out Iran]

Pugliese says: "... Alexis Debat has been exposed as a
fraud, in the last 24 hrs. (actually, longer ago, in the French Press;
see the full page of search results referenced below on Google - NYTr).

"See the google hits below, from ABC News, NYT, Mother Jones, Daily Kos,
etc. Faked academic credentials and faked interviews with Sen. Obama,
Speaker Pelosi, Bill Gates, Alan Greenspan, former UN Gen. Sec. Kofi
Annan."

This Debat character has been accused of faking interviews with a
variety of people, as well as lying about a degree from the Sorbonne.
Wonder if he's also tap-danced for any cops lately in airport bathroom
stalls.

None of this discounts the trial balloons he and his pals in the
rightwing press have been floating about an attack on Iran, of course.
They are still OUT THERE to help prepare world opinion for what Bush
apparently plans (unless they are, indeed, simply a distraction from
something else).

Meanwhile, Debat is denying all, claiming he faked nothing and that he
will see those bastards who say he did in court (but he's still been
fired by ABC News from his job as an "expert" consultant). See:
"Former ABC Consultant Says He Faked Nothing," NY Times 9/15/07
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/15/business/media/15abc.html

It just proves once again that the Bush Gang and their hangers-on are a
bunch of completely sleazy frauds, and that the mainstream press is
terminally gullible.
