Oil Prices off the Charts

Washington, Sept 18 (Prensa Latina) The price of oil on the New York
stock exchange closed Monday with the highest price ever at close to 81
dollars a barrel.

According to experts the high price came after unrest over the offer
not being enough to satisfy international demand.

During the day, the price of contracts with West Texas Intermediate
(WTI) for delivery in October increased by 1.47 dollars as compared to
the previous day's closing price and concluded at 80.57 dollars for a
159 liter barrel.

According to operators prices reached 80.70 dollars, as never before
since contract negotiations in 1983 in the New York market.

Regarding gasoline delivery in October this closed at a price similar
to that of last Friday, 2.0442 dollars a 3.78 liter gallon.

Heating gas closed this month at 2.2287 dollars a gallon after an added
two cents on the dollar of the previous figure.

Natural gas for delivery in October closed at 6.65 dollars for every
thousand cubic feet representing a hike of 37 cents on the dollar.
