Venezuela's Ambassador has a lot to say about climate change
Within the framework of the first summit on climatic change hosted by
the United Nations (UN); Venezuelan ambassador Francisco Arias Cárdenas
to UN reported that his country had a lot to say during a presentation
scheduled for Monday afternoon.
"Venezuela has much to say in terms of support to insular regions,
support to South Pacific nations by means of aid that may help mitigate
the effect of growing oceans, works to recover African countries
affected by drought as a result of climatic change and, above all,
everything related to cooperation by Southern countries," said Arias
Cárdenas.
The ambassador said that the Venezuelan delegation would list, but also
make contributions to face this situation. In his opinion, "selfishness
characteristic of the capitalist system is the actual responsible for
this situation."
The presentation for Venezuela will be made by Vice-Minister of Foreign
Affairs Jorge Valero, as part of the delegation including high-ranking
ministry officials and "probably" from the Ministry of Environment,"
said Arias Cárdenas.
