Evo Morales Calls Capitalism Predator of Environment

Havana, Sept 25 (ACN) In his speech at a high-level UN meeting, 
Bolivian President Evo Morales said capitalism is the driving force 
harming the world's environment.

Speaking about climate change before the UN's General Assembly, Morales 
addressed the need to stop industrialized countries from continuing to 
damage the planet with toxic gas emissions, reported Prensa Latina.

The Bolivian leader called on the international community to unite in 
demanding a change in the consumption habits of wealthy countries, 
which negatively affect the majority of underdeveloped nations.

The president said that war is another capitalist-driven evil that has 
serious negative impact on nature and the environment.

Morales warned that the planet will have no future if we continue to 
allow current capitalist consumption patterns and the spending of 
billions of dollars on weapons of mass destruction.

"The world is in the hands of a predatory capitalism that is only 
concerned with accumulating wealth for the few while abandoning the 
majority of humanity," said Evo Morales.
