Documentary on the Cuban Five Screened in Washington
Havana, Oct 1 (acn) The documentary "The Process: the Untold Story",
which shows the violations committed during the process against five
Cuban anti-terrorist fighters and the double standard of the US policy
in the so-called 'war on terror', was screened in Washington last
Friday.
Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino
and Rene Gonzalez, internationally known as the Cuban Five, remain
unjustly imprisoned in the United States nine years after they were
detained for infiltrating terrorist anti-Cuba organizations based in
Florida.
Hundreds of youth, as well as activists and members of the Committee in
Solidarity with the Cuban Five in Washington DC, attended the
exhibition of the film at the "Busboys and Poets" cultural center.
The event was part of an ongoing worldwide campaign in solidarity with
the Cuban heroes that concludes on October 8.
The documentary denounces how the US government, on the one hand, has
allegedly launched a worldwide campaign to fight terrorism while, on
the other hand, protects the anti-Cuba terrorists at its service in
Miami.
In this sense, it compares the unjust imprisonment of the Cuban Five
and the release of international and self-confessed terrorist Luis
Posada Carriles.
