Somali Prime Minister Resigns

Nairobi, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) Somali Prime Minister Ali Mohamed Ghedi
tendered his resignation to the president of the transitional
government Abdullahi Yusuf, who immediately accepted it, according to
reports from this country. 

Ghedi is blamed for not being able to stave off militiamen from the
Islamic Courts Union (UCI) and having to ask for the Ethiopian Army's
interference. 

The Ethiopian Army helped the governmental forces to move from power
the UCI, who maintain an insurrection in Mogadiscio, the capital, that
has been intensified in the last few hours with combats in almost all
the west side. 

Ghedi's resignation may give his fellow citizens an argument to reject
the transitional government. 

The Prime Minister's resignation is part of a plan of distribution of
posts to avoid more political confusion in the neighbour country,
according to sources close to the presidency.
