Bhutto's House Arrest Lifted

Islamabad, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) Pakistan's Punjab Provincial
Government lifted the seven-day house arrest Friday that was set
against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The leader of opposition Popular Party of Pakistan served a few days of
the sentence in the eastern city of Lahore.

In a press conference, the former head of Government described the
transition government appointed by President Pervez Musharraf as
"unacceptable."

She also said elections would not be fair and free as long as the
president remains chief of the Army and the state of emergency decreed
by Musharraf since November 3 is in force.

She mentioned the possibility of boycotting the elections, an issue
that might be discussed by the opposition during a meeting scheduled
for November 21.
