Cuba and North Korea Sign Protocol of Cooperation

Havana, Nov 30 (acn) Cuba and the People's Democratic Republic of Korea 
signed on Thursday a protocol for the economic, trade and cooperation 
relations between the two countries.

In a ceremony held at the venue of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign 
Investment and Economic Cooperation in Havana, the island's Government 
Minister, Ricardo Cabrisas, and the North Korean Trade Minister, Rim 
Kyong Man, signed the document as part of the 26th Session of the 
Commission for Technical, Scientific and Economic Consultation between 
the two nations.

Cabrisas said that this agreement reaffirms the solidarity the exists 
between Cuba and North Korea and it contributes to the improvement of 
relations in all areas.

He added that one of the main aspects of the protocol is the 
discussions among Cuban and North Korean companies in order to find 
other areas of commercial exchange, in accordance with the economic and 
social development that both countries hope for.

For his part, Rim Kyong Man said that all the topics analyzed are 
important to develop, depeen and diversify mutual links and to face the 
blockade imposed by the US government against the Cuban and North 
Korean peoples.

During their stay on the island, the visiting delegation held meetings 
in the ministries of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Economic 
Cooperation, Foreign Relations, Agriculture, Basic Industry and Public 
Health.
