State Guard preparing to lead Kosovo mission
Bismarck, N.D. (AP) The North Dakota National Guard says it's
preparing for a mission in Kosovo that will involve about 700 Guard
members from the state sometime in 2009.
A statement from the Guard says the final decision has not yet been
made by the Army, but the state Guard is being notified to prepare
personnel and equipment.
The North Dakota Army National Guard is expected to lead a
1,400-member task force.
It's expected to include the Fargo-based 141st Combat Support Brigade
and 426th Signal Company, the Valley City-based 231st Brigade Support
Battalion and the Bismarck based 68th Troop Command, 112th Aviation
Battalion, 285th Aviation Battalion and 957th Engineer Company.
