Cuban Trade with Salvadoran Pharmaceutical Co Up 84% in 3 Years

Havana, Dec 7 (acn) The commercial activity of Cuban enterprises with 
the Laboratorios Lopez company of El Salvador has grown by 84 percent 
over the last three years.

The president of the Salvadoran company, Gustavo Lopez, highlighted 
this achievement at a meeting held in Havana where he thanked the 
island's institutions in charge of the marketing of medicines.

The relations between the Salvadoran firm and Cuba's National
Bio-preparation Center (BIOCEN) began in 1997, when the Central 
American company started distributing the Cuban restorative medicament 
Trofin in that region.

The Cuban center in charge of the medicine's quality control
acknowledged the work of BIOCEN, whose products are used in many
healthcare institutions throughout the island.

During the meeting, the president of the Caribbean Natural Medicine 
Federation, Dr. Elisa Aznar, gave a certificate of recognition to the 
Salvadoran company for its support at the recently concluded 7th 
Congress of Medicine and Natural Products.
