UN Sec'y General Expresses Concern over Continuing Unrest in Kenya

United Nations, Jan 2 (RHC) The United Nations Secretary General Ban
Ki-Moonmade an urgent call for a peaceful, diplomatic solution to the
violent political crisis that has followed general elections in Kenya.

Prensa Latina reports that more than 200 people have died in violence
that has escalated since it was officially announced that the incumbent
president Mwai Kibaki, of the National Unity Party, had been reelected
in last Thursday's vote.

The opposition Orange Democratic Movement led by Raila Odinga has
strongly contested the results, accusing the government of electoral
fraud.
