Meeting of Committee to Celebrate the Life of Luis Miranda
The next meeting of the Committee established to organize a large
public Memorial Meeting on Saturday, January 26 for our brother Luis
Miranda will be Tuesday, January 8 at the 1199/SEIU Building, 310 West
43rd, between 8th and 9th Avenues, at 6:30 PM. The event will be held
at the 1199SEIU Auditorium at the Martin Luther King Labor Center.
There will also be a professional photography/video exhibition that
will present Luis's life and times at the Art Gallery on the first
floor of the MLK Center for an entire week. The 1-8 meeting there will
be reports from Committees established for program, the photography
exhibition, publicity, media work, security, finances, translation, and
logistics.
At the Tuesday meeting we will continue the discussion on the program
for the event; we have confirmed a number of prominent speakers and
cultural performers in what will be an inspiring and enlightening event
in the militant spirit of Luis Miranda.
We hope to see you on Tuesday, January 8, 2008.
