Cuba's Eastern Mountains Get New Electricity, TV Services

Havana, Jan 9 (acn) Another 25 small power generators and TV 
transmitters were recently installed in communities on the Sierra 
Maestra mountain range in south-eastern Granma province.

The modern equipment benefit over 23 thousand inhabitants in 162 rural 
communities, and contribute to the energy saving project underway in 
Cuba.

During 2007, TV high power transmitters were set up in remote 
mountainous areas such as Los Horneros, in Guisa and Banco Arriba, in 
Buey Arriba. This allowed a better reception of  TV signals with the 
local population enjoying a larger offer on different TV channels.
